Meaning
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away and the new has come." This painting is of the reconstruction of DNA. When we are in Christ, we are brand new, fully remade and fashioned to be like Him. Everything about us becomes alive in a way it was never capable of before. As we step into our new identity as sons and daughters of the Living God, we are remade, the old passes away and our new DNA becomes alive. This painting speaks of hope, it speaks of new joy and life, and it speaks of healing. This was painted at a healing conference a while back and I believe that there is an anointing on this painting to bring healing and restore that which was lost. Particularly for hereditary illnesses.
Story
There's lots going on behind the meaning of this painting. As mentioned, I created it at a healing conference during my second year in the Kingdom Creativity track Bethel Supernatural School of Ministry. This is one of the few pieces I've had a dream about while praying into its meaning. At the time of the conference, I wasn't planning out my paintings. I was still just putting paint where I felt Holy Spirit lead, usually without any idea of what the finished piece would look like. When I was done this piece, I wasn't sure what it was other than that an explosion of some kind. A lady came up to me at the end of the service and said the blue ladder part reminded her DNA and the brown around it looked like dirt (which would reference the story of the creation of man in Genesis 2 where God makes man out of dust).

Sometime afterwards (I can't recall if it was that same night or later), I had a dream early in the morning - which is when I typically will have prophetic dreams. In the dream, I saw the blue DNA-like part moving down like an escalator. It felt like an intersection between Heaven and Earth, and I was reminded of Jacob's Ladder in Genesis 28. The Lord took me to the verse referenced above in Corinthians and explained the meaning to me when I woke up, making a layered connection between Jacob's ladder and our DNA. The first layer is the spiritual transformation that happens to us at the moment of salvation, making us a new creation on Christ. There are so many things I'd like to say about that transformation, but for the sake of being succinct, I'll probably need to make a journal post about it. The second layer is that now that we are new creations in Christ, we are His ambassadors here on Earth - we are an open Heaven, an intersection between Heaven and Earth for the people around us. Again, so many things to unpack in a journal post. The third layer is the supernatural physical healing I feel the Lord wants to bring to people who are battling hereditary illnesses.
